You must be legally married to or in a civil partnership with a British citizen or a person settled in the UK. You must have been living together in a relationship for at least 2 years if not married or in a civil partnership. You must intend to live together permanently in the UK.
Financial Requirements
Your partner must meet a minimum income threshold, usually £18,600 per year. This threshold increases if you have children. Savings can be used to meet the financial requirement if the income threshold is not met

Application Process
Online Application
Apply online on the UK government’s website. Pay the application fee (approximately £1,523 if applying from outside the UK).

Duration and Extensions
