Today we will be discussing a recent case Visa Direct dealt with which involved obtaining a spouse visa. Our client, a British citizen who was born in Afghanistan needed assistance with a spouse visa for his Afghan wife who unfortunately was unable to meet the English language proficiency requirements necessary as part of the eligibility requirements. This was a case which had to be dealt with expeditiously as it was necessary to reunite their three children living in the UK with their father and their other three children in Afghanistan with their mother. 

Despite the challenging issue of providing the necessary English language evidence our team at Visa Direct aimed to demonstrate to the Home Office that the couple’s situation was exceptional. We lodged an appeal against the refusal of the mother’s spouse visa entry clearance alongside comprehensive supporting documents to substantiate her unique circumstances.
